We can install a Phantom Door Screen on just about any door and application. The Phantom Legacy model can fit on doors up to 96” tall (8 Feet) and up to 48” (4 feet) wide. However, if you’re looking to install a Phantom screen on an over height door, over 84” tall (7 feet), and over width, anything over 36” wide (3 feet), we would recommend our Captured Edge (Meshlock) model. If you’re looking for a Phantom Screen on a very large patio door, anything over 8 feet tall and 4 feet wide, The Phantom XL would be the best option.
Our standard mesh is a PVC coated fiberglass 1814 Charcoal Mesh (aka black insect mesh)
Approximately 1 hour for a standard-sized door, 1.5 hours for a patio slider. A re-screen could be 30-45 min.
If your door swings out, yes. If your door swings in, no. However, it is always a bit easier for us to have access to the other side of the doorway just in case we need it during the installation. All of our custom fittings are done outside in our vans though so there is minimal time required within your home.
There is a limited lifetime warranty on all Phantom units that includes all the parts except for the mesh. If the mesh gets wrecked for any reason, it can be replaced. It is just not covered by the warranty. All other parts will be covered for life, providing the screen is being taken care of properly. There is also a 2-year service warranty on Phantom screen installations- again, providing the screen is being looked after. If you are taking care of it and anything goes wrong in the first 2 years, give us a call and we’ll send someone out at no charge. Installers use their discretion on service calls as to whether or not issues are covered.
Using the screen in the way it was intended, keeping the tracks and mesh clean of any debris, and applying silicone spray when needed. Installers will go over the maintenance at the time of installation to ensure there is no confusion. Using the screen in a rough manner and/or not maintaining its cleanliness will be apparent to an installer showing up for a service call.
This can be fixed by flattening out the crease as much as possible and then holding a hair dryer on high heat over the crease until it relaxes. Then ensure the screen is rolled flat into its housing.
No, not usually. The bottom track is attached to an integrated sill adapter to the bottom door sill to help prevent tripping hazards. Very few people step on the door sill while entering or exiting a doorway. Normally you will step over the door sill.
Yes, you can add a locking mechanism for an additional charge. Phantom will be introducing a lock that is built right into the handle on the inside of the screen.
